Chalet du Bois, Morzine

Chalet du Bois is situated on the nursery ski slopes in the centre of Morzine; discrete and completely secluded, but just a quick stroll from the heart of the village. Only recently rebuilt for us, our design brief was very simple: ‘picture postcard, chocolate box ski chalet’ mountain retreat. We sought to fuse traditional Alpine decor with contemporary design; and so to the original timber panelled walls, log stove and weathered oak floors, we have added a cool veneer that includes smart en suite bathrooms and wide-screen home cinema. The staple diet of the modern day skier has not been forgotten with a smart basement sauna for après-ski relaxation. There is also a large family suite with private lounge; perfect for a little privacy and seclusion.

Meals – Chalet du Bois, Morzine

After the skiing, the best part of any great chalet holiday has got to be the food. It’s not just the carefully prepared menus and choice of house wines, it’s the very real pleasure of not having to lift a finger.

Start the day with morning coffee or tea brought to your bedside, then fuel up with a hearty hot breakfast cooked to order. Freshly baked cakes await your return from the slopes and while you shower, snooze or enjoy an après-ski tipple, a mouth-watering three course meal is delivered effortlessly to your dining table.

Menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light enough to leave you grinning not groaning. Bon Apétit
